Roads
Years ago I took some photos from the passenger seat - markings, surfaces, signs, and finally have made some prints on the theme.
The more I look at road surfaces the more I love the textures and marks of the patches, faults and random lines as well as the intentional markings and features.
For someone whose printmaking process is not the most precise, and who loves darkness, random marks and texture, this is perfect subject matter.
So far I've produced just the two compositions with various treatments and levels of success (these photos are warts and all), but I intend to do a lot more -
and continue to be somewhat obsessed whenever I'm on a journey (in the passenger seat, of course).
